Response from Belmont Police re crime in Beaches Estate
Make sure you contact the Police at the first instance of any crime, the more reports the police receive the more action they will take in our area.
The police go on figures (number of reports taken in an area) as to how often they will come out and patrol.
it is up to all residents to contact the police at every instance of anything that may be suspicious in our area.
As per the advice from the Detective Superintendent Commander in all emergencies, including a crime that is happening at that moment or something that is changing, such as suspicious people or vehicles driving around the estate, call triple zero (000). To report a crime that has already happened and the offender's have left the scene, call Police Assistance Line 131 444. The operators on these lines will take your message and if necessary send police out to investigate, on 131 444 they may create a police report and provide you with a police report number. All instances of these calls will be sent to Belmont Police Station so that the local police are aware of what is happening in the Estate.
In the case of regular non emergency offences such as noise complaints, driving complaints and anti social behaviour, call 131 444 and ask for police to come out and let them know this is an ongoing problem that happens at regular days and times.
