Further to our previous post regarding the “Survey” put out by the Catho PA and the Alliance, it would seem we were correct in assuming that this so-called survey was not about hearing the wants and needs of a community but more about getting numbers to support a complete block of development in our area.
The survey was sent out on 4th March and the cut off date was 23rd March. A hard copy (with no room or request for the sender’s name and details) was delivered via letter-box drop on 6th March. Yet today on 9th March there is an article in the Herald advising everyone the developers plans for Catho and why they should not go ahead.
Well so much for putting out a survey to ask what people want!
It is now blatantly obvious that the “united front” the PA and Alliance want to put up is against all development. Including our shops and park.
Sue Whyte has contacted the Newspaper concerned to put forward her ideas and news about the development it seems without any regard to truth and accuracy.
The BAG was contacted by the Newspaper (couldn’t get our name right) to give our perspective and Burt spoke about our push for shops and park. Something Sue Whyte does not seem concerned about even though she says the PA and Alliance are working together.
We are also pushing for community consultation when the design stage begins.
We are acting on behalf of the Residents of Beaches, we do not agree with what Sue Whyte has said or made allusions about.
If you have not yet submitted your survey (apparently you cannot make a copy of it before submitting) we ask that you think again about completing a survey that the authors of which would appear have no desire to know what your answers might be and who will possibly just doctor the results to suit their own interest.
The PA and Alliance should be ashamed of themselves for putting their names to such an obviously deceptive and manipulative piece of political propaganda.
