Hi Burt,
I understand that people / some of the Beaches community are not happy with the build and or the stairs or the way that the track has been built but at this stage and most likely for many years now, this is how it will remain and we just have to accept that unfortunately. In order to keep cost as low as possible it was determined that, the structure of the track will remain the same it is only the boards that will be widened.

 My understanding is that the community were consulted initially regarding these stairs and that NPWS wished to have gravel (laid on bitumen) and sandstone on the ground but this was rejected by the community. And so this type of track was designed and installed and this is what is unfortunately here to stay.

If you would still like to meet please give my office number a call and we can arrange a time, however we will not be able to change the outcome of these stairs.

If you are having a meeting soon with community I would desperately ask that you remind people that the area is National Park and that means no dogs or dirt bikes on the beach or tracks.
NPWS will be enforcing this with no caution.

I will try to contact Stacy tomorrow and let everyone know how I went.
