As you may remember the residents of Beaches Estate were called upon to ask for permission to speak on your behalf to continue to keep communications going with the main stakeholders, this being to address the lack of shops and parks that were promised to the reidents when land was first purchased.
Talks with Rose Group
Face to face discussions have been encouraging with Rose Group, and more talks will be held shortly.
Talks with National Parks and Wildlife Services (NPWS)
It is interesting to know that when the survey was taken in regards to the inadequate build of the walkway to Moonee Beach, all your responses were put forward to NPWS, on site and were taken seriously.
A letter was received recently from NPWS stating that changes would be made, such as widening the walkway and instaling passing bays as well.
Furthermore, the middle track would also be upgraded to allow emergency vehicular access. This would also mean that this track can be used by foot traffic as well.
Lake Macquarie City Council (LMCC)
Another item of concern was the unsafe water retention pond or the duck pond.
It has been put forward to LMCC how unclean this pond is and its infestation of mosquitoes is very unhealthy.
